Fossil Ammonite Pair from Tulear, Madagascar. A striking pair that consists of one ammonite cut into two halves and polished. These cephalopods are Jurassic in age, and existed some 140 to 200 million years old. The mines in Tulear produce some of the most beautifully preserved ammonite specimens in the world. Golden calcite transforms the chambers into little crystal lined geodes. Stunning geometry combines with reasonable price to make this pair a perfect collector piece. Measures 8 cms. across the long axis.
