Azurite/Malachite from the Milpillas Mine, Cuitaca, Mun. de Santa Cruz, Sonora, Mexico. Low, flat lying large crystals of indigo blue azurite present a terraced, or dragon scale look, as they traverse across this piece. At this point in time, I think it's safe to say that the azurites of the Milpillas Mine are certainly some of Mexico's finest, and probably rival anything worldwide. The price points on these specimens have been unbelievable. Here's one that while it is certainly not the top of production, is none-the-less very sweet by just about any standards. The color is rich and vibrant, and the luster of the azurite is nature's finest - it's actually much better to see with your own eyes. The camera doesn't convey the crystalline faces well at all. I worked hard behind the scenes to keep the price on this piece low, while providing the best quality that I could. A great looking and very affordable piece from a locality that has skyrocketed its way to fame.
